Day 160, Friday 8 August

So I was reading an article in New England Runner on aging and running, my favorite quote so far is "vanity and denial were my friends".

Played golf 2 miles, at noon went for a 2 mile walk (stoped in the gym half way through to life weights), and then a 1.5 mile walk with Bonnie in the evening. There is a women in our neighborhood who runs in the evening with her dogs. She used to have 2, but one died recently, last night she had a new puppy running with her, really cute dog, stoped by to say high to us.

Day 157, Tuesday 5 August

Another recovery day, walked 2 miles at noon and then 1.5 in the evening with Bonnie. Starting to feel better, but knee is still a ways away from being 100%.

Supposed to rain on Wednesday, we'll see what the day brings.

Day 155, Sunday 3 August

Welcome to new member Kimi! Glad to have you with us. And hugs EJ, that sounds like quite a saga. But the trail is here waiting for you and will be glad to have you back :)

Our weekend camping trip turned into a hike and a lot of rain -- details on my LJ and I'm sure Neil will have his own version :D

We took some pictures and I'll turn those into an album after we get them uploaded.

Campfire!

Well. Here we are, another month gone, another few hundred miles behind us. Or, in my case, another 78 miles. That's 15 more than I did in June, so I'm happy. How are the rest of you doing? Can we see some pictures of the places you normally walk, sites you usually see, or whatever you want to share?

Neil and I are starting off August with a camping trip to the White Mountains. I found this picture of the shelter where we'll be staying tomorrow night (on a website called hikethewhites.com, useful for any hiking in New Hampshire's White Mountains). I don't think we're going to be having a campfire, just a nice rocket fueled stove.

I thought the platforms didn't look very comfortable, but then I took a good look at the rocks and said, "Nah, wood is good." I'll update when we get back with photos from our trip. Assuming the camera and I both get back in one piece!
