Day 4, and I hope others are off to a better start

Day 1 was spent between my sewing machine and my computer -- and no matter how much I use my foot pedal for sewing, I don't think that counts for walking. Distance: 0

Day 2, I dug out my pedometer and clipped it to my waistband. Despite the fact that I made a trip to the store, at the end of the day, it said I'd only done about 150 steps -- which is equal to 5 trips up and down our staircase. Hmm. Distance: 0.5 mile

Day 3, I tried the pedometer on a different pair of pants -- and lost it. No clue where it got to. Had to do a couple of errands, so I know I got off my duff, anyway. Distance: 0.25 mile

Day 4, still no idea where the pedometer is. Walking limited to up and down the stairs and out to the mailbox. Got a decent word count, though. Distance: 0

I have to go to the store tomorrow anyway. Maybe I'll see whether they have pedometers.

How's everyone else doing?

I think your pedometer was lying to you, Erin...just moving around the house should give you more than zero :D

I had 2.1 Monday, 3.2 Tuesday, 2.8 yesterday, and 1.2 today. Which my trusty spreadsheet tells me adds up to 9.3 miles.

Very nice! I'm just rounding down -- I assume moving around the house is an eighth of a mile or less, and probably not worth my time to track.

An ordinary day at my desk, with just a little work around the house, usually works out to around half a mile. Granted that this house is bigger, I'd still bet that you get at least a quarter of a mile.

Oh, cool. So with my store trip yesterday and mostly hanging around the house today, I'm up to 1.5 total!

Erin, I switched to an Omron pedometer that counts steps in any position (even a purse) as long as it isn't horizontal to the ground.

But most pedometers require a starting amount of steps before it considers that you're really moving. If you don't stop before that count, it adds them in.

Margaret, I switched pedometers -- this one doesn't work in my pocket, but it's much more sensitive. Too much so, in fact -- coughing was adding thousands of steps to my days, so I had to take it off! Should be back to counting again by week's end.

Now that's crazy. Counting coughs but not in your pocket. Hugs. Hope you figure it out.
