Day 247, Friday, October 31

Discovered this morning that Jim still had the leash in his pocket--and he leaves for work almost two hours before Brody's and my walk. So we went across the field as there's usually too much going on on our little road that time of day. Half day at work. Jim phoned to say he was going to have to work overtime. I figured Brody needed a longer walk, not a shorter one, so made him heel along our road (without a leash) for 3/4 mile to the far end, then released him for a run out to the river. Made him heel part of the way back, too. He wasn't impressed, but he listened.

And I am officially over ONE THOUSAND MILES for the year. (You'd think I'd be skinnier...)

Day 246 Thursday, October 30

Woke up to discover Brody learned to navigate the spiral stairs during the night and eaten his fill of kitty litter crunchies. I wasn't in any mood to play games with him on our walk this morning--on the leash the whole way with a cranky woman, he was, then he landed in the crate for the day. I ran errands at noon hour which added a few steps and hoped for a long walk after work, but hubby hurt his back at work and was in for a shortish one only. Ah well. It's pretty much solid dark by the time we've been home for an hour now so no dilly-dallying when we get home.

Pretty much the same thing as usual: Puppy walks morning and evening, and on Monday, a noon hour walk as well.

Day 244, Tuesday Oct. 28

My pedometer has been acting up lately so I'm guesstimating that I've done three miles in the last two days. Pitiful, but I don't get very many steps when I'm sewing and plotting.

Sure is quiet around here lately; just me and the crickets, apparently. :-)

Day 242 Sunday, October 26

Took Brody for his morning walk, and later, when my kids came, Hanna and I took him for another longer walk all the way to the river. Tired, but feel good! Today: 6.33 miles

Another crisp autumn day with a couple Brody puppy walks. Total of 4.44 miles.
