Day 446, Sunday May 17
Wanted to get this picture of a lady sliper we say on our walk around the pond this morning. Will post mileage later.
The rain broke up enough that we got to walk around the pond, where we saw the beautiful lady's slipper in Neil's post. We've never seen them on this train before.
Walked around the pond with Bonnie (obviously) 2.5 miles. Played golf with some friends in the afternoon, 3 miles.
Bonnie tells me the end of the trail is at 2,167.1 miles. So somewhere around the 4th or 5th hole I would have been at the end. I was told by a hike leader who has been up Kataden that in the fall you will see hikers with a mile left to go on the trial who just can't go on, they just don't want it to end.
So after some thought I decided that this really isn't a solo hike its more of a group hike, and in that spirit I'd rather finish with Bonnie. So rather than finish now, I've started back to meet her somewhere, probably in New Jersey.
