Wow, I've been bad around here. Keep walking, though, and biking the pup in the evenings. He's getting in better shape and doesn't spend the rest of the evening panting anymore!
I lost my pedometer last week about Friday. :( I felt practically naked and helpless without it. Estimated Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 4 miles apiece being as they were approximately my usual days. Monday was definitely less. I called it 2 miles--and was finally in Nelson where I could replace the pedometer. Whew.
I'm closing in on the end of the AT here. Just a few days more. I'm thinking to just keep walking north into New Brunswick and see Maritime Canada. Anyone got a better idea?

I've gotten bad about it too, but here I am today. I'd say keep walking. The next big trail is the Pacific Coast and it's longer than this one, but if you start on that, we'll never catch up to share the campfire :).

8 pelicans and 1, then three egrets today. Dead duck still in pond, but the many live ducks don't seem bothered at all. Also saw a harrier enjoying the wind.
Well Val, you could start heading south with me. Lots of people say the trail is nicer in reverse :)

Val, it's called Sentier International des Appalaches, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Appalachian_Trail. It goes all the way up to Belle Isle and the end of the mountain chain.
I gotta start hiking faster or you guys will finish the Pacific before I even find Maine! I got 3.1 miles today.

Huh, who knew it even had a name? Thanks, Bonnie! Ya know, Neil, I appreciate your reasons for heading south again, but for me--been there, seen the scenery. Not that New Brunswick will look any less like the Creston Valley Flats--or Brody's hind end. Sigh.
