Day 264, Sunday November 16

Saturday Brody and I had our morning walk, then I abandoned him and went to Cd'A with my MIL and three SILs for the rest of the weekend. Did lots of shop-walking. 5.39 miles Saturday.

This morning K and I swam a bunch of laps before heading out for the day's shopping, then we drove home later. 4.41 miles Sunday.

And I discovered that New Balance no longer makes the walking shoes I have and need a new pair of. I've got about 1200 miles on these and they're starting to wear out (go figure.) But they don't make a gore-tex walker any more, just a hiker. Do I want the hiker, or do I want a mesh walker that will allow the dew and mud in? Bleh. I want my old shoes again, just new.

Personally I'd go for the hiker, I don't like shoes that let the water in, but that is just me.

Here is the weekend update.

Friday was the usual, 3.5 mile run first thing in the morning because I had meetings all day and 1.5 mile walk with Bonnie in the evening.

Total : 5

Saturday was a travel day, but managed a walk around the hotel and another in the evening for a total of 2 miles. It was cold in Michigan and snow about one half an inch of snow.

Total : 2

Sunday went to the gym first thing in the morning and did and easy work out in the bike, 7.5 miles. Went for a short walk with Bonnie, probably .5, more snow wind and cold, did I mention the snow!

Total: 8

Sunday, started out the morning in the gym again, did 9.5 and a bunch of walking at the airport, probably 10 so far. Haven't decided on an evening walk yet. I'll update that tomorrow.

Subtotal: 10

Hugs on the shoes. That sucks. You might want to look at Merrell and Vasque; they both make nice waterproof walking shoes and light hikers. You'd probably have several models to choose from.

Neil's post pretty much covered my count, except he forgot to count at least a mile walking through airports on Saturday. I added up 12.7 since I posted last.

And Mar? You might be behind Val and Neil, but you're way ahead of me :D

Yeah, I *could* look at a different brand, I suppose. I've just really found New Balance to fit my feet and hold up well.
