Day 328, Monday January 19

Sunday I took Brody for his first-thing-in-the-morning walk, and after lunch we drove out to the railway bridge (you all have seen a LOT of photos of that bridge over the years!), strapped on the snowshoes, and went for a hike for a couple of hours. We didn't go that far, really, but it was a sunny day and it was nice to get out, and snowshoeing has GOT to burn more calories than walking. Also did an ab workout from SparkPeople. 4.2 miles.

Today Brody got a very short morning walk but we did the full thing after work. It seemed much colder than the temp said--it recorded at -8C and felt about -15. And I've done the SparkPeople exercise vids for the day. I'm DONE!!! 2.78 miles.

Sounds like you're doing a good job getting back on the wagon with the vids. And someday, I'll go snowshoeing too so I can know how much fun you and Brody are having :).

Val was not kidding. Those pilates are a killer! The good news is that they did not trigger the shin splints that yesterday's exercise did. Walked with Colin and saw a harrier, the heron, and a bunch of ducks/teals. My friends the greebs are back too :).

Busy day and the roads were kind of narrow from all the snow, so went to the gym and used the eliptical trainer for 25 minutes, 2 miles. Then 1.5 mile walk with Bonnie in the evening.

Sunday I didn't do much, still feeling pretty rotten from the cold. Yesterday was a lot better. I'm still stuffy and sneezing but I got through a normal day of groceries and errands and evening walk. Even baked a cake to mail to David.

Total since last report: 2.9. Should do better today because it's art class and that means more walking from the T.
