Wow, I'm the first?
Hmph. Not sure how that happened. I barely got a mile in today, but I did half of it outside in 7" of snow. Do I get extra credit for that? ;-)
I have logged 3795 steps for today, which should be exactly a mile (but I had to replace my battery, which killed the memory, which means I need to double-check what my step-length is supposed to be).
Random, I'm getting a new one tomorrow. Mine isn't counting all of my steps, and it doesn't even have the capability to adjust to the length of my step. I'll be behind for a few days, gals, but I'll catch up.
Two steps, huh? I'm pretty sure you did more than that!
Mine doesn't start counting steps until I've gone six. It has something to do with a pendulum thingie inside? still, just a step here and there isn't really much for exercise. I guess. Sometimes it seems to stop, too, and its brand new.
Oh, I'm sort of calibrated now. It's 2.2 kilometers between Jim's shop and mine, which is 1.32 miles and about 3550 steps. Therefore a mile is in the neighborhood of 2662 steps, and Friday's total came to about 2.7 miles.
I've had very good luck with this pedometer model : http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HJ-112-Digital-Premium-Pedometer/dp/B0000U1OCI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1202002668&sr=8-1

A start is a start, EJ! And nah, everybody will want snow days if we start giving them out! :P
Calibrating my pedometer is on my list for the weekend, so for now I can only report my steps at 7163.

I did the 2.5 miles. Half outside and half walking the downstairs.
And congrats everyone!
Recalibrated the pedometer after measuring this morning, and yesterday's walk was more like 1.67 miles
Need to get a new battery for my pedometer. At least, I hope that'll help. At the end of the day, it said I only had 2 steps. *sigh*

I guess they aren't rocket science.

I picked it up at Wal-Mart for between $16-18.
whoops, I swear I planned to do my update. Luckily my pedometer keeps 7 days back :).
I got 2817 steps which it calculates as 1.11 miles. I have calibrated it before, but I want to verify.
However, considering I'm recovering from a relatively serious downturn, I was happy to get that much :).
